PADI stands for Professional Association of Dive Instructors and is the world wide leader in recreational diving. PADI certifies more divers on an annual basis than all other agencies together. That means more opportunities for you as a Dive professional worldwide.

Doing a Career Development course with is Scuba shack will gurantee you the best start possible in the exciting diving industry. You will combine theory with lots of practical experience working side by side with our experienced team of Divemaster, Instructors and Skippers.

You will learn everything from taking people out on both boat and shore dives, boat handling, boat maintance, filling cylinders, compressor maintance, dive equipment sales, dive equipment servicing to shop management and much more….

All the recreational courses (Open water, Advanced Open Water, EFR and Rescue Diver) are taught in small groups and therefore provide you with the important basic skills upon which to build the rest of your diving career.

We recommend that all future Divemasters and Instructor candidates get their Master Scuba Diver certification. This certification is the highest non-professional level you can obtain in the PADI program. A Master Scuba Diver is a PADI Rescue diver and / or PADI Divemaster with at least 5 specialties. For more information on the specialties refer to "courses". The Master Scuba Diver rating will extend your knowledge and experience in diving. You as a professional diver, can choose from a wide range of specialty courses such as Nitrox , Deep, Night, Wreck, Underwater Photography, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Boat diver and Equipment Specialist.

Our retail shop Your first professional dive certification is Divemaster. As a Divemaster you will assist the Instructors on all the courses. You'll be responsible for taking certified divers on boat and shore dives, as well as for the logistical planning of each dive activity. Trainee Divemasters at Scuba Shack become part of our team. They work together with the other Divemasters on the boat and shore dives, and assist the Instructors on courses. In doing so, we ensure that you know the dive industry and are prepared for the challenges it offers. Thorough Divemaster training is crucial for a successful IDC.

Twice a year, we hold an Instructor Development Course. This 8 day course will demand a lot from you! All the knowledge you have obtained on previous courses now has to be presented on Instructor level. It's challenging, but very rewarding work and prepares you for the Instructor Exams (IE) which takes up 2 days. After you have successfully passed the IE, you certify as a PADI Open Water Instructor and are allowed to teach PADI courses up to Divemaster world wide!

The next step in your career is the Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating, which can be done straight after the IE. On the MSDT Instructor course you will be taught how to instruct at least 5 dive specialties. You can choose from specialties such as; Boat, Deep, Night, Wreck, Navigation, Underwater Photography, Nitrox, Underwater Naturalist, Altitude and many more. When you are ready to move ahead with your working career as a PADI dive professional, we will assist you with finding a job.
