Open Water Course

Open Water CourseThe PADI Open Water course is your passport to the amazing underwater world. This course will teach you all the basics of how to dive safely and comfortably. You will be impressed at how quickly you will be off exploring and having fun with your dive buddy!

Although safety is number 1 all the way through the PADI courses, you will have lots of fun. Experiencing being weightless is an amazing experience and being surrounded by fish makes you feel like you are in an aquarium. Often on the dives we encounter bigger stuff like the playful seals or the majestic stingrays. They will make you understand what a privilege it is to visit the wonderful world.

The PADI Open Water course takes 4 days in total. Course consists of 5 theory sessions, 5 confined water training sessions (in our onsite swimming pool) and finally where you all doing it for: 4 Ocean dives. The use of all diving equipment for the duration of the course, PADI course materials and registration fees are included.

Once qualified you can dive independently, world-wide up to depth of 18 meters !

We have exclusively for our Open Water students several special offers on dives and on the PADI Advanced course. Ask your instructor about it.

Minimum age for this course is 10 years and no experience is required.

Where?


Our courses run from our Kommetjie dive shop. We offer transport fromour Longstreet shop and all hotels, B&B and backpackers in CapeTown (centre). The Kommetjie shop has its own purpose build swimming pool which makes it perfect positioned for Scuba Courses in Cape Town.

When?

We have weekly Padi Open Water Course and you can those from both a full-time option (Monday to Thursday), or Part-time option (2 consecutive weekends). Often we are also able to accommodate other schedules including private courses (at an extra charge). Youhave to book at least 1 day inadvance (longer in advance is ok). 

We meet at the Kommetjie shop at 09.00am or 08.00am at the Long street shop for people who require transport. We confirm all times the day before the activity.

Cost?

We have 3 different options available depending on your budget. All 3 options qualify you to dive independently from an Instructor world wide up to a depth of 18m.

Budget option - 4 day course. It includes all equipment rental, tuition, 5 pool sessions, 4 shore dives, course materials and registration with PADI.

Includes your dive permit.

Standard option - 4 day course.It includes all equipment rental, tuition, 5 pool sessions, 4 shore dives, delux Padi course materials (extra Padi Logbook, Padi DVD and the eRDP), registration with PADI. With  the standard option we include your own mask and snorkel. This is highly recommended because each mask sets to your own face. Having you own mask and snorkel will ensure you don’t have to worry about a leaking mask.

Includes your dive permit.

Pro option - 4 day course, It includes all SCUBA equipment rental, tuition, 5 pool sessions, 4 shore dives, Padi delux course materials (extra Padi Logbook, Padi DVD and the eRDP), registration with PADI. With your Pro option we include not only your own mask and snorkel but also boots, fins and an 2 piece wetsuit. That means that all your “soft” gear is brand new and you are sure everything fits 100%.
